Encrypted streaming on public Wi-Fi. Throttle-resistant on slow ISPs. Stay connected to your home DStv account while you travel.
Protocols, leak protection, and platform coverage chosen for streaming reliability and privacy.
VPN Super's network is sized for streaming, and the app auto-picks the fastest server for you.
Cafe, airport, and hotel Wi-Fi leak traffic by default. VPN Super encrypts your DStv session end to end.
VPN Super's Kill Switch protects your connection on iOS and Android if the VPN drops.
Premium unlocks VPN Super's full network: 64 countries and 104 locations on iOS, Windows, and Mac.
iOS and Android both ship a genuine free VPN, with the same encrypted tunnel as Premium.
Every VPN Super platform blocks DNS and IPv6 leaks, so your DStv traffic never exposes your real IP.
No country-switching, no changing what's on DStv. Just connect and watch.
Download VPN Super for iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Apple TV, and Android TV.
Tap Fastest Location at the top of the server list. VPN Super picks the lowest-latency server automatically.
Your session is encrypted end to end, privacy and throttle-resistance on every platform VPN Super ships.
Pro tip: tap Fastest Location instead of picking a server manually, VPN Super auto-selects for speed while keeping you on a server in your own country.
DStv's channel and streaming lineup is licensed for Sub-Saharan Africa, not just South Africa, and not the rest of the world. Here's what that actually covers, and what a VPN can and can't do about it.
DStv is a MultiChoice satellite and streaming service licensed for Sub-Saharan Africa. That's a rights decision, not a VPN-detection issue, and it's true with or without a VPN connected.
DStv Stream officially serves South Africa, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and roughly 50 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, far more than the "South Africa only" framing most VPN guides use.
Privacy on public Wi-Fi, ISP-throttling resistance, and a stable connection to your home DStv account while you're traveling, the parts of streaming a VPN can actually improve.
A sample of VPN Super's server locations, chosen for coverage and low latency, not for content access.
What changes when you add VPN Super to your DStv streaming session.
| Features | Without a VPN | VPN Super |
|---|---|---|
| Public Wi-Fi privacy | Traffic is visible to the network you're on | Encrypted end-to-end |
| ISP throttling | May slow streaming at peak hours | Traffic shape is hidden, harder to throttle |
| Leak protection (DNS/IPv6) | Not applicable | Included on every platform VPN Super ships |
| DStv availability | Determined by your country | Same availability, unchanged by VPN Super |
| Devices covered | One connection at a time | Up to 10 devices on one VPN Super subscription |
Download VPN Super on the platforms you actually use to stream DStv at home and on the go.
"Amazing app! I've been able to access different applications that were once banned in my region"
"Great VPN with fast speeds and instant connection. Has no timeout and has many locations as well."
"This is one of the best apps you can get if you're trying to access content while travelling internationally."
Streaming services routinely detect and flag known VPN and proxy IP ranges. Try switching protocols (Auto, Super, IKEv2, OpenVPN on mobile; WireGuard or OpenVPN on Windows), reconnect to a server in your home country, and restart the DStv app.
No. DStv is a Sub-Saharan African satellite and streaming service, and none of these countries are part of its officially licensed service area. VPN Super doesn't add availability a market hasn't been licensed for.
DStv Stream serves South Africa, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and roughly 50 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa. That's a much wider footprint than "South Africa only," which several guides online get wrong.
DStv Now was renamed DStv Stream in August 2023. It's the same service and the same account, just under a new name, so "DStv Now" links and app listings you find today may be outdated.
A VPN is a legal privacy tool in most countries, though rules vary, check your local laws. DStv's own Terms of Use govern what you can do with the service itself.
A well-built one shouldn't, noticeably. VPN Super's network is sized for streaming, and the app auto-picks the fastest server for you. Weak underlying Wi-Fi or mobile signal can still cause buffering on its own.
Yes, VPN Super's free VPN on iOS (20 countries) and Android (15 countries) uses the same encrypted tunnel as Premium. Premium adds the full 64-country network plus desktop and TV apps.
Confirm VPN Super shows Connected, try a different server in the same country, and restart the DStv app. If it still won't load, Settings > Contact Support attaches your connection diagnostics automatically.
Yes. VPN Super applies DNS and IPv6 leak protection on supported platforms, so your streaming traffic doesn't leak outside the encrypted tunnel on a cafe or airport network.
Free on mobile, Premium for desktop and TV. One VPN Super subscription protects up to 10 devices.
